On January 30, 2024, i called the Westfield towing due to an issue with my RDX. While waiting for the tow truck, I googled my issue and discovered it might be fixed by turning the car off and then back on to clear the computers.
It did work and when the tow truck arrived, I told him I no longer needed to be towed. However, Agero still billed my credit card. I called the tow service, Heavy Metal Towing on 3/22 and he stated he submitted a GOA and confirmed they were on site with me for only 1 minute. However, Agero has refuted my credit card charge back stating I was towed to 7044 Scribner Way Dublin which is a residential address owned by someone else.
Our address is in Westerville. Agero needs to correct this charge to my credit card for $322.50.
User's recommendation: Bypass Agero and call a local towing company direct

Invoice fraud, cold checks, non payment of services, lies, credit card charge backs, I recorded them sending in and changing my invoices (mileage) to cost them less money they sent me a for $1051.00 (cold) or (Bad check) no funds and a check for $350 and one for $100 all bad and at the same Time charged back a credit card payment for a secondary Tow I went out too to tow in but the customer didnt want it to go they kept the keys they wanted their own tow friends to Tow it they cursed me out ! So The cold checks put my account into a security mode they had to hold every check I deposited because of their misfortune of $1500 in cold funds and then charged my account back for $835 put my account into over draft the charge back was for a job 4 mths earlier so the interest and charge back penelties cost me close to $1000 and they wont even reimburse me for their fraud it took me 2 mths to get the cold checks taken care of and a cold check where Im from is a felony the agero support laugh and tell me its my problem I have them recorded changing invoices while their setting on the computer doing it and saying they cant I send them the video of it they apologize and start trying to fix the invoices I noticed ! Had me tow a Truck and store it they paid me for the first tow I towed it 2

Verified Buyer |Resolved: To warn others about this awful company!
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I kept calling and calling and emailing and emailing some more.
I also had my insurance company (USAA) reach out to them because I was getting the runaround, so I feel like this may have sped up the process. I finally got a check from agero in the amount I had requested to get my car fixed.
I am so happy, but you definitely have to keep up on this company to make sure you get the result you want, otherwise I feel like they will give you the runaround and try and deny your claim. Stay persistent!
This guy begs me not to go through the insurance and says its just a cheap piece of plastic on an expensive car (a Range Rover) he eventually gets into my car. I immediately call the insurance company and tell them what happened because this guy seems sketchy and I didnt trust him. So they get me in touch with the people at this awful company Agero, they ask for pictures of the damage from 30 different angles, a form filled out and an estimate, so I immediately take the pictures and get the form filled out, the estimate took a little longer because the key fob was over $800 so that was an ordeal in itself. Finally, I get the key fob and get the estimate.
I submit that ASAPsome guy named John, is supposed to be helping me but he never answers his phone, no one there answers the phone actually, except the receptionist who has no idea where anyone is at or what is going on at all. I finally get ahold of this genius John and Im asking what is going on because its been over a month and I havent heard anything. He finally sends me an email saying Im trying to gather information, I dont have much info on the case, its difficult I reply by saying I dont know whats so difficult about itis the guy denying it? Has he talked to him?
I let him know I will be calling everyday and emailing everyday until this is resolved. I will not give up on this until my door is fixed and I am made whole again. This company has awful reviews and I cannot believe that insurance companies choose to work with these people. Its almost impossible to reach anyone, they dont respond to emails or calls.
I know that one of the supervisors named Jackie blocked my number. I made it very clear to Mr John that I will be calling them everyday from here on out for updates and I expect my car to be fixed asap. I have yet to hear back from him. I will begin calling them again tomorrow at 8 a.m.
and every day after that. This company is an absolute joke.

Verified Reviewer |Denial of claim
9/21/2023 had a roadside request for two blown tires on the right side. They dispatched a wheel lift tow truck.
Which damaged the bottom right of the front bumper. The tow truck driver accepted responsibility took pictures as did i. Agero who i had to file the claim with took over TWO months (not the 24-48hr) to finally reach out and deny my claim stating due to the fact there was damage on the fender they were denying the claim for damage on the BOTTOM of the bumper! Took them two months to find a way to deny coverage on damage the tow driver brought to my attention and took responsibility for!
Disgusting excuse!! Agero is nothing more than a scam!!
- Non responsive
- Takes zero accountability

So the truck comes puts winch on the back of my car leaves it park and drags it up onto a flat bed . I tell the driver the car will go into nutral he states no this is better . I'm like ok?so after I get the key issue solved I try to drive my car it makes all kinda noise jumps around completely undrivable turns out he put the winch on the controls arms bent them to *** So I file a claim .or try to after 30 days 30 calls over 10 emails I spoke to the damage team 1 time no responses to my emails except a resend of the original email they sent . I ended up having to get financing to cover the repairs .
This is by far the most messed up thing I've ever experienced. This company needs to lose there license they super suck do not do business with agero .

Verified Reviewer |AGERO LEFT MY WIFE STRANDED LATE AT NIGHT
I have Progressive I s. They use AGERO for roadside assistance.
When I first called I spoke to the gentleman and gave him my wife's exact location then he wanted her number so he could ping it for GPS their GPS was over 15 miles off of her location. Then he informed my wife that we were liable for $150 in Towing because he could not verify our benefits. Then I called your customer service line and the lady assured me that we did have the roadside assistance Towing and that I would have to pay her $45 then just to initiate the claim which I did. Then I will see the text message stating they were working on it.
After about an hour there was no update and I called for an update and they said they were still working on it but we're having a problem finding a provider I told him that's not my problem that's not what I paid for you need to find a provider so I called Progressive Progressive put me through to AGERO this time I spoke to a gentleman who couldn't find a ticket took him 15 minutes to find a ticket when she found a ticket he informed me that even after an hour and a half of searching they couldn't find a provider so my option was to call my own tow truck. This company did nothing to help. I was told by the first people if they can't find it provided they will call out of network well they did not call out of network the second gentleman I spoke to who told me I needed to call my own tow company I told him the name of the local towing and he told me they would put it in the notes the name of the company is Moss towing they're awesome. But the gentleman never put any of this in the notes I found this out this afternoon when I called back to make a complaint.
Also I was told last night that my card was not charged to 45 dollars but I found out this afternoon that that was a lie and it could take 7 to 10 business days for me to receive my $45 back all depending on the bank. So after over 2 hrs I called Moss Towing who responded in 30 mins to get my wife. $125 for the tow.
Also I was told I would be reimbursed but now today I am told it is up to the case manager. I asked for a supervisor today and after 45 mins on the phone e non are available.
If I could I would rate them ZERO
- Leave you stranded lies uncaring
Preferred solution: I would like Progressive insurance and all other insurance companies to get rid of them and find the reliable company or handle their own roadside assistance Plus I'd like a full refund for my toe
User's recommendation: Stay away from AGERO. ASK you Uto ins. If they use them.

Roadside assistance joke!
They claim to be a roadside assistance service. They work with my insurance.
My husband waited over an hour before finally calling the insurance asking if theres an eta? The insurance said that Sheri told them since they saw it had to do with a tire change they werent going to assist till later and that they didnt realize it was related to an accident. So what? If people need assistance with a tire and no accident they just make them sit and wait???
Do they expect people to abandon their vehicle and just walk to wherever it is they need to go, in this case my husbands MILITARY unit. And these are the type of people hes fighting to protect the country for.
User's recommendation: If there’s another option avoid these people at all costs.
Roadside assistance came out to replace a flat tire the agent damage my truck

Company resolved the issue.
For some reason (this review? a comment sent thru their website?
Both?), Agero changed their mind with Citibank and reimbursed the $95 charge with no explanation. They have not contacted me at all.
Agero kept texting to see if work was completed, and I kept responding "Cancelled" to no avail. Sure enough, I was charged $95 anyway.
Disputed charge with Citibank, was eventually denied; Agero responded that they had proof that I'd been served. I called them directly to dispute, and after 24 hrs, they said I'd have to take it up with Citibank. Knowing that's a dead-end street, I found in the fine print of the charge "SCR Towing." Figuring it is their subcontractor, I looked up the number and called.
Mike was very kind & open, looked into the event and found that no photograph of completed service had been submitted, and he refunded $95 by mail within 3 days. Yea, to SCR Towing.
Agero couldn't be bothered to check with their subcontractor on my behalf. They show no interest in the consumer or the quality of submissions from their subs. Clearly a mistake by the tow-truck/repair driver, that is forgivable.
But Agero, Progressive, and Citibank just stone-walled me; there was a time one call to Progressive would have been all I had to do -- they'd have believed me and advocated for me down the line. Instead, I had to go through the entire pecking order myself - very time-consuming for their "zero-service."
- Called back as promised
- Service rep was kind & apologetic
- Gave me a dead-end street as an option
- Did nothing to see if they had provided the service
- Did not believe me
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: When disputing a charge, contact their subcontractor

Verified ReviewerHorrible representation of USAA
Guy pulled up in a minivan and flips flops shorts and a sweatshirt hoodie in the rain. My battery was dead.
Then I couldnt open the door. He wanted to charge me another service call to open the door its a Corvette and there is a special latch because its all electronic. He wanted to use a steel rod to try to push the button.
Then he tried to open the hood from the wrong side after he hooked up the battery charger I got the car started and turned around to say thank you and he was gone, very rude I wish USAA would get rid of Agero. Ive never once had a good experience with them over the last 20 years

In a follow up call to VAS Roadside Assistance I learned Agero collected an additional $100 from my roadside assistance coverage for the service. They billed for a tow but provided a jump start instead and claimed they were due the fees because I never cancelled the tow.
- Misleading practices

Verified Reviewer |AGERO the third party Roasd Side service for Progressive is unreliable, uncaring employees.
AGERO is the ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE company used by Progressive. My wife was broke down on I-10 in Mississippi late at night when I call for roadside assistance they sent me to a AGERO.
After giving her precise location to the operator they insisted on speaking to her and pinging her phone for GPS. Their GPS ping was over 15 miles east of where she actually was. After that my wife called me and informed me that she was informed by their representative that we were responsible for $150 for the tow because they could not verify my benefits. I called them back and spoke to somebody else and they told me they would not even initiate a claim without a $45 upfront payment after that I received a text message after an hour I called them back and a Gentleman couldn't find the ticket 15 minutes into a conversation you found a ticket and informed me that they didn't have any providers and basically my only other option was to call my own tow truck.
Which I did the company I used was Moss Towing awesome folks AGERO DID NOT cal any out of network providers lime they told me they would. Then when I called to cancel the ticket I was told my card wasNOT charged. This was. Lie.
Today when I call thier customer care number I filed a complaint and after 45 minutes s was told no supervisor was available and I would get a call back tomorrow. When I asked about being reimbursed for the tow I was told it would be up to the case manager assigned to me.
This company lies and is unreliable and uncaring. If I could ha e I wod ha e given ZERO stars

I agree. I can’t believe with his wife stranded along the road that he spoke that way to the only person trying to help.
